Our Purpose
Pixelsmith Studios was established to build and promote the Animation, Illustration and Game development communities in South Africa by building connections, creating a platform for online portfolios, creating job boards, giving free exposure and working with the existing bodies to reach their goals.
We aspire to be a central source of information and resources where like-minded professionals can share, discuss and initiate ideas to achieve common goals.
Our Present
Now Pixelsmith Studios has expanded into a digital marketplace by creatives for creatives.
Our South African-based digital marketplace designed for South African’s and other creatives around the world to showcase and sell their work. As creatives ourselves, the Pixelsmith team were itching to find a local place where we could sell our creations.

The Management Team
Ruan Smit
Ruan Smit started Pixelsmithstudios with the vision of bringing all the most dedicated animators, vfx artists and illustrators to his blog. The idea behind this project is to create a new design orientated environment of sharing, learning and expertise development and most importantly, helping each other in the industry.
Neal Strydom
Neal is a Visual Storyteller in the digital media and tech space from Cape Town, South Africa. He is always found experimenting with new ways to create and is up for a challenge.
Matt Davison
Matt is about 80% nerd, 10% writer, 10% animal lover. His love for PC’s started at the tender age of 4 and his love for animation and motion graphics fairly soon after. You can normally find him behind a computer screen or playing with his dog Rusty.
Kathryn Donoghue
Kathryn is a copywriter and Procreate fanatic. She adores illustration, graphic design, tech and gaming. When not creating, upgrading her PC or tinkering with the site, you’ll find her with her nose in a book or obeying her cats’ every command.

At the very core of it’s existence, Pixelsmith Studios is a platform to help artists promote their breathtaking work, studios to showcase their awesome teams and for artists and studios to find each other to create the visual imagery we love that is animation, games, VFX and illustration.
