Technical artist Saschka Unseld was offered the opportunity to create and direct a short film for the upcoming Monsters University movie. This short shows the great (okay FINE,Amazing) lighting to clothing-simulation software. You can see it when you watch the light reflect off the umbrellas material. Also, have a look at the quality and realism of the rain effect in this short.
The full short which will only be released when Monsters university hits the scene will be six minutes long and will unfld the story of a blue umbrella who fancies a red umbrella. Only Pixar can pull something as crazy like two umbrellas falling in love.
